A key figure in the development of Walmart’s small format Neighborhood Market and international operations has joined the board of asset disposal firm Liquidity Services.
Ed Kolodzieski joined the board of Liquidity Services effective Nov. 17 and also serves on the company’s compensation and governance committees. Liquidity Services bills itself as a global solution provider in the reverse supply chain with the world’s largest marketplace for business surplus.
Kolodzieski retired from Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., in 2013 as executive vice president of global sourcing. During 13 years with Walmart he also served as CEO of Walmart Japan and COO of Walmart International where he was responsible for operations, merchandising, marketing and new format development for all countries outside the U.S. He joined Walmart in 2000 as a senior vice president to lead development of the retailers small format Neighborhood Market concept that had been introduced two years earlier. Prior to joining Walmart, Kolodzieski was the president of Acme Markets of Virginia, a regional supermarket with operations in five states, and prior to that he was on operations executive with the former Kash n Karry supermarket chain west central Florida.

In addition to Liquidity Services, Kolodzieski serves as chairman of the board for Archway Marketing Services and is a director for Vi-Jon, Inc. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from the University of South Florida and a master’s degree in business from the University of Tampa.
