FRISCO, Texas — National Envelope, a privately held envelopes manufacturer in North America, has appointed former Tyco executive Jim Pinto to president and COO.

An affiliate of global investment firm the Gores Group, National Envelope regards itself as an environmental leader in the paper and envelope converting industries and has certifications from the Forest Stewardship Council, Rainforest Alliance, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification and Green Seal.

Prior to joining National Envelope, Pinto previously held executive roles in industrial manufacturing companies, responsible for billion dollar supply chain organizations, and most recently served in the position of global VP of operations and supply chain management with Atkore International, a divestiture of Tyco International.

“Jim Pinto is the right person to lead National Envelope to a new era of success. He is a pragmatic, solid leader and National Envelope is fortunate to have him at the helm,” said Tim Meyer, chairman of the board of National Envelope and managing director for the Gores Group. “His operational experience in commodity type environments and extensive knowledge of the industry, combined with his track record of success helping businesses reach their potential make him an incredible asset.”

Prior to joining Atkore, Pinto was president and CEO at Clyde Union LLC, which supplies engineered industrial pump systems to the oil and gas, nuclear power and water industries globally. In addition, Pinto spent more than 20 years in progressive roles within Textron Inc., a multi-industry business serving the aerospace, automotive, financial and industrial markets. His positions included VP and GM as well as VP of integrated supply chain. He earned an MBA from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.

“Today’s envelope and direct marketing communications industry requires a forward-looking vision, and we are entering a new phase in National Envelope’s ongoing transformation,” said Pinto. “Commercial and operational excellence are critical components for both transformation and success, and we’re looking forward to positioning National for growth. I’m proud to be a part of this exceptional organization, and as we begin a new year, I look forward to continuing to work with our team members to execute a revitalized strategy."
