Former Metropolitan Lighting owner dies

NEW YORK According to reports, Sidney Medoff, former owner and president of Metropolitan Lighting Fixture Co., died July 27.

Medoff lead Metropolitan Lighting from a local showroom in Manhattan to a national business in the the mid-1960’s, when it acquired ARCO Lighting. He later moved the business uptown and expanded the ARCO catalog into one of the first national lighting catalogs for designers.
