Former eBay chief mulls over governor run
SAN FRANCISCO Meg Whitman, former eBay CEO, and a speaker at the 2008 Republican National Convention, reportedly will consider running for governor of California.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the current governor of California, will have to step down from the role in 2010 because of term limits.
According to reports, Whitman was a respected figure in the Republican party, and was considered a potential Treasury secretary.
Though no official announcement have been made, reports cite a person close to Whitman, who said the former eBay chief had given up several director positions in order to clear her schedule.
