Five Below is looking to generate brand awareness and traffic after selecting a new advertising agency to handle creative and media duties.
The teen and pre-teen retailer known for selling products for $5 or less chose Zimmerman Advertising, a division of Omnicon, as its agency of record and Five Below CEO Joel Anderson couldn’t be happier.
"After a formal agency search, we selected Zimmerman based on the success we saw them achieving for other brands," Anderson said. "We're all about results and you just don't see that in most agencies. But Zimmerman is different. They have intense ambition for their clients' growth and the numbers-first commitment we were looking for."
Five Below has been working with Zimmerman Advertising on local market advertising tests, designed to responsibly transform the retailer from a print-media based model into a multi-media brand model that would at once drive awareness and traffic, according to the company. Zimmerman and Five Below together will expand their relationship to include additional projects that appeal to Five Below's core audience of teens and pre-teens.
"Not only is Five Below one of the most unique brands we've ever handled, it's one of the most exciting retail concepts in America. This brand is poised to go all the way and we're thrilled to be marketing it,” said Zimmerman founder Jordan Zimmerman.
Five Below has grown rapidly in recent year, expanding from 82 stores in 2008 to more than 425 locations today, including a recently opened, two-story flagship location in downtown Philadelphia.
"Beyond the brand itself, Five Below's management team is world class and dialed in on the opportunity," said Zimmerman's CMO Cliff Courtney. "Our engine was built for brands like this, and we believe great things are ahead for our partnership."
