First Data courts veterans

Leading payment technology and services company First Data has launched First Data Salutes, a company-wide military engagement strategy aimed at helping the veteran-owned business community and service members and their families who are making the transition to civilian careers.



This November, in honor of Veterans Day, First Data will offer special pricing on Clover Station, Insightics and Perka products. First Data will also offer free payment processing on Veteran’s Day for current veteran-owned clients who are certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.



“The men and women who put their lives on the line to serve our country are true American heroes,” said Frank Bisignano, chairman and CEO of First Data. “I am proud of First Data’s long history of supporting and honoring veterans, and today’s announcement is a continuation of that commitment. Our purpose is to help our clients grow their businesses and we extend that impact by offering our resources to assist military spouse and veteran-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.”



To coincide with the launch, First Data Salutes is offering veteran-owned small businesses exclusive offers, including free payment processing on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, for business owners who are certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Vets First Verification Program as well as 55% off on Clover Station, a tool that tracks inventory, manages employees, builds customer relationships, consolidates invoicing and accounting, and creates customization with additional apps from the Clover App Market.



In an additional salute to military families, First Data’s roughly 15,000 U.S.-based employees will join in a Veterans Day Service Project in partnership with Operation Honor Corps (OHC), a White House Joining Forces initiative, with partners of The American Red Cross, Service Nation: Mission Serve and Blue Star Families. From Oct. 20 through Nov. 14, employees will write 10,000 handwritten letters of appreciation to servicemen and women, veterans and their families to foster greater connection between the American public and its honored military community.
