Financial guru to provide advice on new Wal-Mart site

BENTONVILLE, Ark. Wal-Mart announced its latest effort to help consumers "save money and live better," an online site that offers tips on how to get the most from their dollars. The site, located at www.walmart.com/savemore, will feature tips and advice from Ellie Kay, known as "America’s Family Financial Expert" and best-selling author of 11 books.

Visitors to the site will find money saving tips from Kay, herself a mother of seven, as well as a spending quiz to help people determine where they rate as far as saving and spending, along with counsel from Kay on factors to consider when trying to save even more. In addition the site will feature consumer insights from Wal-Mart's senior merchants and a section for customers to share their own ideas for smart spending and saving.

“Millions of Americans are currently facing tough times, and it’s important people know there are simple solutions to save money, and ways to spend their dollars thoughtfully,” said Kay. “I’m pleased to share what I have learned from experience, so we can help families evaluate their spending and make smart, lasting decisions.”
