Fielding accepts position of president, Disney Stores Worldwide
BURBANK, Calif. The Walt Disney Co. has announced James Fielding, a retail and Disney veteran, president, Disney Stores Worldwide. Fielding will oversee merchandising and all other operations of the Disney Stores in North America as well as the 107 Disney Stores in Europe. He will also play a key role in the relationship with Oriental Land Company, which operates the Disney Stores in Japan.
Fielding previously served as evp, Retail Sales and Marketing for Disney Consumer Products since 2005, during which time he oversaw the department's global sales, marketing, studio merchandising, creative and synergy initiatives, as well as special events. Fielding was also responsible for Disney Retail. Prior to that, he served as senior vp, Merchandise, Creative & Marketing at Disney Stores.
Before joining Disney, Fielding was vp and gmm for Land's End Inc. and The J. Peterman Co. and prior to that spent over ten years in merchandising and marketing roles at Gap Inc. and Dayton Hudson.
