Family Dollar inputs award-winning POS system

RICHMOND, Va. and CHARLOTTE, N.C. Family Dollar and Ironworks are implementing a new point of sale management solution which earned "PMI – Project of the Year" and "Best Information Technology Business Value" at the Blue Diamond Awards, presented by Information Technology Charlotte and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

According to the companies, the award-winning POS system is focused on increasing revenue and bottom line performance. The system uses a mix of centralized and decentralized systems and rests on a foundation of standard infrastructure components and connecting to the Enterprise back office systems via a new wide area network.
