Family Dollar Hires Merchandising Exec

Matthews, N.C., Family Dollar Stores Inc. has tapped Robert George as executive VP and chief merchandising officer. He joins the discount retailer from Staples Inc., where he most recently served as senior VP and general merchandise manager of office products.
