Ex-Claiborne pres. to head Talbots

HINGHAM, Mass. Talbots today announced that its board of directors has appointed Trudy Sullivan as the company's president and ceo, effective August 6. Sullivan will also become a member of Talbots' board of directors.

As the former president of Liz Claiborne Inc., Sullivan was responsible for building and leading multiple apparel and non-apparel men's and women's brands. Her extensive merchandising career began in Boston, where she started as a buyer for Jordan Marsh and then Filene's.
