Electronics Boutique to Acquire Jump

West Chester, Pa., Electronics Boutique Holdings Corp. will acquire Spanish computer and electronics retailer, Jump Ordenadores, for an undisclosed amount. Electronics Boutique said that buying the 141-store chain, which is based in Valencia, Spain, would help the company find a foothold in Europe’s fourth-largest video-game market. Electronics Boutique, which has agreed to be acquired by rival GameStop Corp. for $1.4 billion, said it will begin selling video-game hardware and software in Jump stores over the next several months. The West Chester, Pa.-based retailer expects the deal to close in the second quarter of fiscal 2006.
