Effective Today, Walgreens Censors Sales to Minors

Deerfield, Ill., As of this morning, all Walgreens cash registers are programmed to prohibit sale of products containing dextromethorphan (also known as DXM) to anyone younger than 18.

According to the company, it has taken this action voluntarily, in response to growing concern about potential misuse and abuse.

Walgreens sells more than 200 cough and cold products containing DMX.
