EBay, NRF team up to fight organized retail crime
Washington, D.C. EBay and the National Retail Federation trade group said Monday they are collaborating, with support from the FBI, to fight organized crime.
The online auction site operator and NRF said they will share information on organized retail crime investigations and regularly gather a group of retailers and eBay representatives to figure out ways to eliminate such crime.
The group also will tackle using new technology to work with law-enforcement agencies to fight crime and finger organized rings.
According to a 2009 NRF survey, 92% of retailers reported being a victim of organized crime within the previous year.
