eBay is the latest retailer to get into the holiday spirit with a campaign that transcends television, online and its mobile app.
Touting the tagline, “The Gift They’re Waiting For Is Waiting on eBay,” the pure-play retailer’s holiday campaign launched Monday, Nov. 9 online, via mobile app, and on TV — eBay’s first TV spot in two years. All three channels are positioning eBay as a shopping destination that “offers the best choice and amazing deals all season long,” according to a company statement.
“Our new campaign illustrates why eBay is a top destination for holiday shopping – delivering incredible inventory and inspiration, along with a seamless shopping experience,” said Suzy Deering, chief marketing officer for eBay North America.
The TV ad is expected to drive shoppers to what eBay describes as its online “Holiday Hub,” which features deals and inventory across brands including Mattel, Sony PlayStation, Adidas and Puma, among others. Another new feature, available on the Holiday homepage, will be a countdown clock that enables shoppers to track when new deals will be released. The pure-play will also feature a Daily Deals page online, where all featured items will ship for free.
On “Thanksgiving Eve,” eBay will also host a collection of deals exclusively created for mobile shoppers using the eBay app.
