Early Sales Report: Mixed

New York City, Among the handful of chains reporting monthly sales today, American Eagle posted a comparable-store sales increase of 17.3% for the month of October. Most of the 70 or so chains that report monthly sales do so on Thursday.

Men’s Wearhouse reported a 6.7% comp-store gain, and Haverty Furniture reported 0.6% comp-store sales growth. Aeropostale reported a 2.5% decline. The ICSC expects year-over-year industrywide comps to increase by about 3.0% in October.
