E Com Changes Name to Perfumania

Sunrise, Fla. E Com Ventures Inc., which owns Perfumania perfume shops, said Friday it is changing its name to Perfumania Holdings Inc.

The company's ticker symbol will be "PERF" starting at the opening of trading Monday, it said in a news release.

The company is already commonly known as Perfumania, according to president and CEO Michael W. Katz.

"Changing our name should strengthen our position in the marketplace," he said.

The company's shareholders on Friday approved E Com's buyout of diversified wholesale and retail fragrance company Model Reorg Inc. That deal was expected to close Monday, pending completion of closing conditions.
