Duckwall-ALCO same-store sales up 5.2%

ABILENE, Kan. Duckwall-ALCO Stores today announced that its sales from continuing operations for the four weeks ended July 29 increased 6.9% to $35.3 million compared to $33.1 million in the prior-year month, and same-store sales increased 5.2%.

Sales for the second quarter increased 4% to $124.4 million compared to $119.6 million during the same period last year. Same-stores sales increased 2.1%.

Excluding fuel sales, merchandise only same-store sales increased 5.4% for the period and 2.6% year to date.
