DSW Plans Online Store

Columbus, Ohio, DSW Inc. plans to begin selling goods online and will invest $37 million at its headquarters in hopes of launching the Web business next year, according to the Associated Press.

The expansion is expected to create 250 jobs, mostly within a new Internet sales warehouse and distribution center. The online store will mark an important extension of the company's brand.

The $37 million dollar investment includes $27 million in inventory expenses, $9 million for machinery and equipment and $900,000 for construction, the report said. The company has asked the city and state to help with $1 million of the costs.
