Dress Barn monthly, quarterly comps rise

SUFFERN, N.Y. Dress Barn Inc. today reported that net sales for the four-week fiscal month ended July 28 increased 7% to $101.6 million, compared to $95.2 million reported for the four weeks ended July 29, 2006. Comparable-store sales increased 3% above the same period last year.

For the thirteen-week fiscal quarter ended July 28 net sales increased 10% to $376.3 million, compared to $343.3 million reported for the thirteen weeks ended July 29, 2006. Comparable-store sales increased 5% above last year's fourth quarter.

For the fifty-two week fiscal year ended July 28 net sales increased 9% to $1.4 billion, compared to $1.3 billion reported for the fifty-two weeks ended July 29, 2006. Comparable-store sales increased 5% over last year.
