Dr Pepper Snapple Group’s corporate social responsibility report card
Dr Pepper Snapple Group met or exceeded several of its corporate social responsibility goals over the past year, according to the 2014 report the company released Friday.
One of the goals it reports meeting was reducing its use of PET, a polymer used in beverage bottles. DPS conserved about 60.7 million pounds since 2007 by redesigning packaging and upgrading almost 70,000 older-model coolers and vending machines.
“Our progress has tangible results that are positively impacting customers, consumers, communities, shareholders and our own employees,” DPS president and CEO Larry Young said.” In advancing our sustainability goals, we’re developing operational excellence that helps drive positive change in our business.”
The company also reduced the time lost to injuries by 40% and continued its Let’s Play initiative, renovating and building playgrounds around the country through partnerships with organizations like KaBOOM! and Good Sports. It was also audited its high-risk suppliers for compliant with its code of conduct and was in the top 50 of S&P’s 500 companies.
“Dr Pepper Snapple has continued to win in the marketplace and improve as an organization.”
