Dorman named non-exec chair at Motorola
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. Motorola announced that it has elected David Dorman to serve as non-executive chairman of its board of directors. Dorman will succeed Ed Zander, the company's current chairman and former ceo, who will retire as planned upon completion of his term at Motorola's 2008 Annual Meeting of Shareholders to be held on May 5.
Dorman, joined Motorola's Board of Directors in 2006. Dorman is a 28- year veteran of the telecommunications industry. He is currently a managing director and senior advisor at the firm of Warburg Pincus and Co. He joined AT&T as president in December 2000 and served as chairman and ceo from 2002 until November of 2005.
