Dollar Tree Income Down in 3Q

Chesapeake, Va., Dollar Tree Stores Inc. posted net income of $31.9 million in the third quarter, down 11.9% from the previous year. The decline came despite an 8.8% improvement in sales to $724 million and comps growth of 0.7%. President and CEO Bob Sasser partly attributed the decline to delays in new-store openings.
