Dollar Tree 3Q Sales Rise

11/8/2007

Chesapeake, Va., Dollar Tree Stores Inc. said Thursday same-store sales for the third quarter increased 1.9% due to increases in store traffic and customer spending.

“Sales gains were driven by increases in store traffic and average ticket,” Bob Sasser, Dollar Tree’s president and chief executive, said in a statement. “Our seasonal sales were strong as both the Halloween and back-to-school selling seasons were solid.”

Total sales for the quarter increased 10% to $997.8 million, from $910.4 million during the fiscal third quarter in 2006.
