Dillard’s to shutter store in Cincinnati

11/6/2009

Little Rock, Ark. Dillard’s said Friday it will close its Northgate Mall store in Cincinnati on Dec. 31, according to a report by the Business Courier of Cincinnati.

The closure will eliminate 50 jobs.

The retailer announced in March that it would close the store, after shuttering 20 stores in 2008, including one at Towne Mall in Middletown, Ohio. It said at the time that it would offer employees jobs at other nearby stores.

Dillard’s operates five other locations in Greater Cincinnati, all of which are former McAlpin’s locations. The retailer bought Mercantile Stores Co., parent of McAlpin’s, in 1998.
