Dillard’s has signed an agreement to move into a shuttered Macy’s store at the Layton Hills Mall in Layton, Utah, north of Salt Lake City. Construction on the 160,000-sq.-ft. site is set to begin in April, looking toward a fall 2017 opening.
“We are excited to announce that Dillard’s will replace Macy’s at Layton Hills just a few weeks after the announcement of Macy’s closure,” said Stephen Lebovitz, president and CEO of CBL & Associates, the mall’s owner. “The speed at which we were able to fill the availability demonstrates Layton Hill’s excellent location and strong draw.”
A Head Over Heels anchor at the Mall was recently replaced by SeaQuest Aquarium, indicative of a CBL initiative to seek innovative replacements for departing anchors. Other anchors at Layton Hills are Dick’s Sporting Goods and J.C. Penney.
