Dillard's investors seek new board members

3/19/2008

NEW YORK Dillard's investors, the Barington Capital Group announced today that they intend to nominate four persons for election to the board of directors of the company at the Dillard's 2008 annual meeting of stockholders. Barington said it believes that the company's vast value potential is not being realized and lacks confidence in the ability of Dillard's current board, which is composed of directors with an average tenure of almost 20 years, to improve shareholder value.

Barington said it intends to nominate James Mitarotonda, chairman, president and ceo of Barington Capital Group, Charles Elson, professor of corporate governance and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware since 2000, Nick White, former evp and general manager for Wal-Mart's Supercenter division, and Eric Salus, former president of Macy's Home Store.
