CVS Same-Store Sales Up for September
Woonsocket, R.I., CVS Caremark Corp. said Thursday that September same-store sales rose 5%. For the four-week period ended Sept. 29, pharmacy same-store sales grew 4.3%, hurt by about 5.5 percentage points due to recent generic introductions.
Front-end, or non-pharmacy same-store sales grew 6.8%.
For the third quarter, same-store sales rose 5%, including a 4.3% rise in pharmacy same-store sales and a 6.5% front-end same-store sales increase.
Year-to-date, same-store sales rose 6% during the 39-week period ended Sept. 29, including a 5.8% rise in pharmacy same-store sales and a 6.3% rise in front-end same-store sales.
