CVS-Google Health pact now includes drug stores
New York City CVS Caremark Corp. said Monday it has expanded its partnership with Google's health service, allowing CVS pharmacy customers to download their prescription and medication histories to Google Health accounts.
Patients who pick up a prescription at a CVS pharmacy will be able to update their online medical histories directly from CVS.com, the company said.
CVS has maintained a partnership with Google Health since its launch in May 2008. Their partnership has allowed customers of Caremark's pharmacy benefits management business to store and manage their prescription history online with Google Health. Patients at CVS' walk-in MinuteClinics are also able to add summaries of their visits to Google Health accounts.
