Cumberland Farms adds gaming prepaid cards to self-service kiosks

Canton, Mass. This summer, Cumberland Farms shoppers will find a new line of gaming cards in their grocer’s Coinstar Pay As You Go prepaid card kiosks.

Based on its partnership with online game companies Aeria Games, Rixty, Spare Change and Wild Tangent, Coinstar will be adding more than 15 prepaid cards to Cumberland’s units in more than 500 stores. Prepaid cards can be used toward Facebook and MySpace applications, online gaming, popular multiplayer online game titles, virtual world items and universal online spending.

The card expansion will help the chain reach the younger demographic, a customer segment that holds the majority buying power in the high-growth online gaming market.
