Crate & Barrel renews contract with third-party delivery service
Northbrook, Ill. Crate & Barrel said Wednesday that it renewed its contract with Westerville, Ohio-based supply chain management company Excel Direct, and plans to use the company’s delivery and assembly services for another two years.
Under the agreement, Excel Direct will manage operations and deliveries out of three facilities, two in California and one in Colorado, serving customers primarily in the Central and Western regions of the United States. The third party will also provide a two-hour scheduling window to Crate & Barrel customers, and delivery to the room of choice inside the home.
Crate & Barrel needs a home delivery partner that understands our customer experience philosophy,” said John Ling, VP supply chain management and logistics at Crate & Barrel. “This contract renewal represents [service to] a significant piece of our home delivery volume.”
Excel Direct performs approximately 110,000 annual nationwide deliveries for the retailer through two separate contracts. Besides the home delivery service, Excel Direct also provides business delivery solutions.
