Costco posts a 14% sales increase with comps up 10%

ISSAQUAH, Wash. Costco reported net sales of $5.7 billion for the four weeks ended Aug. 3, an increase of 14% from $5.02 billion in the same period last year.

U.S. comparable sales for July were up 10% and include the effect of gasoline price inflation, with the average sales price per gallon of gasoline up 41%, as compared to the year-earlier July. Excluding gasoline price inflation, U.S. comparable sales would have been up 6%.
