Container Store Continues to Expand

3/14/2008

Dallas The Container Store isn’t shying away from expansion because of the uncertain economy.

The retailer said that its plan to open 29 stores in five years remain on track, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The 42-store chain wants to reach $1 billion in sales in five years, up from a projected $650 million this year.

The Container Store is watching its expenses to “ensure that our bottom line stays in check,” spokeswoman Audrey Robertson said. “We’re focusing all of our human and financial resources on initiatives that will drive our business today.”

The retailer has opened its first Arkansas location, in Little Rock. It is among five new stores opening in 2008.
