New York -- The National Retail Federation announced that The Container Store chairman and CEO Kip Tindell has been elected chairman of the NRF board of directors and chairman of its executive committee, succeeding Stephen I. Sadove, retired chairman and CEO of Saks, Inc.
Tindell was elected at the Board of Directors meeting held Sunday during NRF’s 104th Annual Convention and EXPO, Retail’s BIG Show.
HSN CEO Mindy Grossman was elected vice chairman of the board. Tindell and Grossman will join NRF president and CEO Matthew Shay to comprise NRF’s leadership team. Each board officer will serve a two-year term.
“NRF, its staff and the industry at large will benefit greatly from Kip’s dedication, professionalism and leadership over the next two years as we already have for the time he’s been a part of NRF’s Board of Directors,” Shay said.
Newly elected board members include:

▪ Gunther Bright, executive VP, American Express, Merchant Services – U.S.
▪ Rick J. Caruso, CEO, Caruso Affiliated
▪ Curtis Picard, executive director, Retail Association of Maine
