Coldwater Creek ceo to retire Oct. 30

SANDPOINT, Idaho Dennis Pence, co-founder, chairman and ceo of Coldwater Creek will retire as ceo of the company effective Oct. 30. He will retain his role as chairman of the board.

Daniel Griesemer, current president and coo of the company, will assume the role of president and ceo on Oct. 30. Additionally, he has been appointed to serve on the company's board of directors.

Pence commented, "I have had the extraordinary privilege to co-found and lead Coldwater Creek for 23 years, and I leave with complete confidence in our company's future. I am very pleased with the company's position in the women's specialty apparel sector, and with its potential for future growth. As part of our succession planning, we have made a point to strengthen the senior leadership talent throughout the organization, and I am pleased that Dan Griesemer is prepared to succeed me as ceo of Coldwater Creek."

Griesemer, joined Coldwater Creek in October 2001. He was promoted in March 2007 to president and coo. He has been responsible for the company's sales, marketing and national retail store expansion, as well as all distribution center and customer contact center operations. Prior to joining Coldwater Creek, Griesemer held leadership positions for Gap Inc. and Federated Department Stores (now Macy's Inc.).
