Clean gets green at Wal-Mart
BENTONVILLE, Ark. Wal-Mart announced today that it will be the first retailer to offer the Clorox's new Green Works natural cleaning line.
"Sustainability is a priority at Wal-Mart so our team is excited about the new Green Works line," said Scott McCall, senior vp and general merchandise manager of Wal-Mart. "In fact, when we learned more about the product line, we encouraged Clorox to expedite its global distribution plans and partner with us on marketing to reach the growing number of Wal-Mart shoppers looking for ways to make greener choices that positively impact the environment."
The Green Works line is made to fit into a sustainable lifestyle, Wal-Mart reported, with products that are made from plant-based ingredients and are formulated to be biodegradable, non-allergenic, packaged in bottles that can be recycled and not tested on animals.
According to Wal-Mart, Green Works natural cleaners already have been shipped to Wal-Mart stores in the United States and Puerto Rico. Distribution in Canada begins in February and Mexico in March. Clorox and Wal-Mart are also collaborating on plans to launch in Central and South America, Japan and China.
