Circuity City promotes concept stores
Washington Circuit City pitched cable-operator partnerships at the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing Summit this week, Multichannel News reported.
Phil Schoonover, chairman, president and ceo of Circuit City addressed the CTAM Summit audience, describing the concept as a means for customers to get everything they need for setting up entetainment equipment in their homes. He demonstrated how a sales associate at this new store could use a tablet PC to map out where the equipment will be used and which type of product is best for the location. The sales associate could then suggest options for further savings, such as a Comcast triple-play for TV buyers, and schedule the hardware delivery and services installation.
According to Multichannel News, Schoonover said Circuit City will have 38 concept stores open before the end of the year.
