Circuit City declares 'Tax Holiday' in California
RICHMOND, Va. Circuit City will give customers in California a “Tax Holiday” this weekend, Aug. 9 and 10, to help drive back-to-school sales. All 95 stores in California will absorb state and local taxes and knock about 8% off the purchase price of items during the two-day event.
“We’ve seen shoppers enjoy savings during sales tax holidays in other states and we want to offer that same opportunity to consumers in California,” said Circuit City evp and coo John Harlow. “During this time of high energy prices, we know that hard-working families need to make every dollar count.”
Stores have boosted inventories to handle the larger sales volume and will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
