Circuit City to cut 1,903 HQ jobs

RICHMOND, Va. Circuit City's closing will result in the termination of up to 1,903 headquarters positions, according to a company filing.

The majority of the eliminated positions, about 1,500 to 1,600, are in the Richmond area, with the rest located throughout the United States.

As of last week, Circuit City employed 34,000 U.S. workers.
