Christopher & Banks sales down for Q4
Minneapolis Christopher & Banks Corp. reported same-store sales were down 20% for its fourth quarter, compared with the same period last year.
Total sales from continuing operations were $103.9 million for the company’s fiscal fourth quarter, compared with $122.3 million for the same period last year. The retailer’s fourth-quarter loss from continuing operations was $28.9 million.
For fiscal year 2009, Christopher & Banks reported total sales from continuing operations of $530.7 million, compared with $560.9 million for the same period last year.
Net loss after charges for fiscal 2009 was $8.1 million, compared with net income of $25.5 million.
The company has closed 22 stores over the past year, leaving it with 815.
