Christopher & Banks Eliminates 30 Jobs

Minneapolis Christopher & Banks Corp. said late Monday it will consolidate parts of its district sales structure, eliminating about 30 manager jobs.

The retailer said it will cut the number of districts to 58 from 89 as of last July.

The company said it expects to take $400,000 in charges related to severance and other costs related to the moves.

The reorganization and consolidation is expected to save $2 million in 2010.

The retailer predicts the district reorganization will save $1 million annually in travel costs alone by district managers.
