Children's Place selects new accounting firm

SECAUCUS, N.J. The Children's Place Retail Stores has chosen a new independent registered public accounting firm for the current fiscal year ending Feb. 2, 2008.

The company announced Monday that the audit committee of its board of directors selected BDO Seidman to serve as the company's accounting firm. The news follows, the company's recent announcement that Deloitte & Touche will resign as its auditor, which claimed that this was due to the auditor's inability to rely on the representations of the former ceo. According to the company, Deloitte & Touche is continuing to serve as the company's auditor with respect to the company's financial statements for the three fiscal years in the period ended Feb. 3 (as to which there is a pending restatement of previously issued financial statements for fiscal 2005 and 2004).
