Children's Place same-store sales down

SECAUCUS, N.J. The Children's Place Retail Stores today announced that total sales for the four-week period ended Aug. 4 increased 8% to $141.2 million compared to sales of $131.1 million for four-week period ended July 29, 2006. Consolidated comparable-store sales decreased 1% compared to last year's 10% increase.

The company continues to anticipate reporting a loss per share of approximately 94 cents to 98 cents for the second quarter of fiscal 2007.
