Children's Place names independent directors

SECAUCUS, N.J. The Children's Place Retail Stores announced the appointment of two new independent members of the board of directors, Louis Lipschitz and Dr. Joseph Alutto. The two independent directors will fill vacancies on the board of directors and will begin serving immediately.

Lipschitz currently serves on the boards of Finlay Enterprises, New York & Company, Majesco Entertainment and Forward Industries. Previously, Mr. Lipschitz served as evp and cfo of Toys ``R'' Us from 1996 until his retirement in 2004.

Alutto is a leading academic authority on managerial behavior. Since October 2007, he has served as the evp and provost of The Ohio State University.

The addition of Lipschitz and Alutto will expand the company's board of directors from six to eight, and increases the number of independent directors to five.
