The Children's Place files preliminary proxy materials

Secaucus, N.J. The Children's Place Retail Stores has filed preliminary proxy materials with the Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with its 2009 annual meeting of stockholders to be held June 26.

The Children's Place board of directors is recommending that at the annual meeting stockholders of record as of May 1 elect three incumbent directors to the company’s board of directors. The Children's Place's nominees are Sally Frame Kasaks, Malcolm Elvey, and Norman Matthews.

The Children's Place has a nine-member board of directors.
