Chico's sales turning a corner
FORT MYERS, Fla. Chico's announced its increase in financial results for 2009 second quarter ended Aug. 1.
For the second quarter ended Aug. 1, the company had net income of $14.9 million or 8 cents per diluted share, compared to net income of $6.7 million, or 4 cents per diluted share for the second quarter ended Aug. 2 the year prior.
Net sales for the 13-week period ended Aug. 1 increased from $405.2 million to $419.9 million. Consolidated comparable store sales increased 1.3% for the thirteen-week period ended Aug. 1 compared to the 15.9% decrease for the like period last year ended Aug. 2. The Chico's/Soma brand's same store sales increased approximately 0.4% and the White House Black Market, brand's same-store sales increased approximately 3.7%
