Chico’s more than doubles profit in Q1

New York City Chico FAS reported Wednesday that its first-quarter net income increased to $35.4 million, from $14.5 million a year ago.

Sales rose to $481.6 million from $410.6 million. Wall Street expected revenue of $472 million.
