Charming Shoppes upgrades e-commerce site

Bensalem, Pa. Charming Shoppes is relaunching its three e-commerce sites this fall with the help of Fry, Ann Arbor, Mich.

Fry is tasked with hosting the sites for Charming Shoppes’ three brands, Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug, and Catherines Plus Sizes. Fry will build the sites using its Open Commerce platform, a multi-site e-commerce solution that includes an integrated order-management system and call-center application.

Each site will include Web 2.0 features, such as quick-look graphic previews and persistent carts that record shoppers’ desired merchandise, as well as innovative widgets for a more engaging user experience.

The technology partner will also support integration with Charming Shoppes' in-store point-of-sale system to allow store associates to reference merchandise unavailable in-house, order it online, and ship merchandise directly to the customer.
