Charming Shoppes names president of Lane Bryant division

BENSALEM, Pa. Charming Shoppes has announced the appointment of Marla Anderson as the president of its Lane Bryant Outlet business, effective July 12. Anderson will report directly to Jim Fogarty, president and CEO of Charming Shoppes and succeeds MaryEllen MacDowell, who was previously president of Lane Bryant Outlet, and was promoted to the position of president of Fashion Bug on June 15.

Most recently, Anderson was the president and CEO of Lady Foot Locker from 2005 through early 2010.  During her 11-year career at Foot Locker she also held executive management positions including EVP of Foot Locker from 2003 through 2005, and EVP of Champs Sports from 2001 through 2003.  Prior to joining Champs Sports in 1998, Anderson held merchandising and management positions at Famous Barr, Montgomery Ward, Reebok, Federated Department Stores, and May Department Stores.
