Charming Shoppes Issues Statement, Offers Reward Following Shooting
Bensalem, Pa. Charming Shoppes on Sunday issued a statement following the fatal shooting at its Lane Bryant store in Brookside Marketplace, Tinley Park, Ill.
The store manager and four customers were shot and killed inside the store in what authorities said appeared to be a botched robbery. Police were searching for a lone gunman spotted outside the store by a witness, but said they had not identified him.
“The employees of Charming Shoppes, Inc. and Lane Bryant are deeply saddened by the loss of life resulting from this horrific event,” Charming Shoppes said in the statement. “We grieve for the innocent victims and our primary concern at this time is for the families and loved ones of those fatally injured.”
The company said that it is woking with the local authorities who have launched a full investigation of the incident. Charming Shoppes has offered a reward in the amount of $50,000 to assist the authorities in their investigation.
